Review: *batteries not included
The Amblin Entertainment film, *batteries not included, opened on this date in 1987.Synopsis:

Positives:
- *batteries not included is a relatively harmless film that won’t offend any families that watch it.
- A lot of the alien effects are impressive—especially by 1987 standards.
-
Negatives:
- The story is thin. Besides the aliens—the film offers little to get excited about.
- The characters aren’t developed and none of them are that likeable.
- *batteries not included is a dated film. It does not hold up well in 2017—it’s a very pedestrian sci-fi story.
In Closing:
It’s unfair to be too hard on *batteries not included because it offers little to get excited about and nothing to get offended about either. *batteries not included is a forgettable and harmless Amblin film.
