Halle Berry Claims Blake Lively Invited Her to Join ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’
Halle Berry reveals she was approached by Blake Lively about returning as Storm in "Deadpool & Wolverine." However, she never received follow-up contact from Ryan Reynolds.
In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Berry, 58, recounted an encounter with Lively at a "Marc Jacobs" fashion show in September 2023. Lively, 36, inquired if Berry would consider appearing in her husband’s film. Berry responded positively, stating, "Yeah, if he asked me." Despite her willingness, Berry noted that Reynolds, 47, never reached out to her.
So far, Reynolds’ publicist has not responded to requests for comments regarding this matter.
The movie, which premiered on July 26, featured many notable cameos, including Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Wesley Snipes returning as Blade. Additionally, Channing Tatum joined as Gambit, a role from a delayed standalone film.
Berry has a rich history with the character of Storm, first portraying her in 2000's "X-Men." She reprised the role in "X2" and "X-Men: The Last Stand" in 2003 and 2006, respectively. Her last appearance as Storm was in "2014’s "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
While discussing the numerous cameos in "Deadpool & Wolverine" on the August 5 episode of the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, director Shawn Levy failed to mention Berry. He did address the speculation surrounding Taylor Swift's absence, clarifying that she was never in discussions to play Dazzler. "It was never a conversation," Levy confirmed, stressing there was no prior discussion about her involvement.
