Paramount publishes second trailer for Transformers One with Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson

A new trailer for the highly anticipated "Transformers One" has been released, marking the first feature-length animated "Transformers" movie in 38 years. The star-studded voice cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Keegan-Michael Key, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm. Directed by Josh Cooley, known for "Toy Story 4," the film explores the origin story of beloved characters Optimus Prime and Megatron. This is prepared by SSP.

Set on the planet Cybertron, "Transformers One" delves into the backstory of Orion Pax (Optimus Prime) and D-16 (Megatron), charting their transformation from friends to archenemies. Keegan-Michael Key voices B-127, an early version of Bumblebee, while Scarlett Johansson voices Elita. Laurence Fishburne voices Alpha Trion, Jon Hamm is Sentinel Prime, and Steve Buscemi takes on the role of Starscream.

During a recent panel, extended clips from the movie were premiered, revealing insights into the film’s plot. The first clip showcased the Icon 5000, described by Cooley as "the Olympics on Cybertron," setting the scene in a prosperous past of the planet. Orion and D-16, who work as miners unable to transform, shock their audience by joining a high-stakes race.

Another clip delved deeper into Transformer lore, introducing transformation cogs that Orion and D-16 are missing. These cogs, provided by Alpha Trion, allow the transformation into their more familiar forms. The characters struggle with their first transformations as they attempt to evade enemies.

The final clip introduced the High Guard, predecessors to the Decepticons, led by Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave. In a climactic scene, D-16 fights Starscream and seizes control of the High Guard.

The trailer’s debut was also uniquely notable as it premiered in space. It featured Hemsworth and Henry introducing the trailer, which played when the craft reached 125,000 feet above Earth, streamed on various platforms including the Paramount Pictures YouTube channel and Hemsworth’s Instagram.

Throughout the panel, it was evident that the actors were longtime fans of the Transformers toys, sharing childhood memories of reassembling them. Key, a notable fan, even led a sing-along of the 1980s series theme song, to the delight of the audience. The film, set 3 billion years before the main storyline, promises to explore these characters in depth, without the inclusion of human characters, which is a first for the franchise.
