- "Slava" is the most common mid-season cabbage variety that bears fruit 90-115 days after planting in open ground. The heads have a smaller weight (2-3 kg), but remain elastic, strong and dense. The variety is also resistant to cracking. Heads can be stored fresh for up to 3 months.
If we talk about late cabbage varieties, agronomists especially distinguish:
- "Amager" is a rounded head of cabbage that can reach 2.4-4 kg. It ripens in 125-130 days after planting in the ground and yields a large harvest. The main feature is that the heads of cabbage do not crack during ripening.
- "Gift" is a medium-late cabbage that ripens about 114-130 days after sprouting. The head is formed from juicy gray-green leaves. The weight of one head of cabbage can be from 2.5 to 4.5 kg. The structure is quite dense and does not crack. It can be stored until March and is immune to most diseases.
Hybrid varieties are also suitable for pickling and salting. In particular, you should pay attention to the medium-late variety "Atria". It takes about 115-120 days from the appearance of the first sprouts to ripening. Heads of cabbage weigh from 4 to 8 kg and can be stored for up to 6 months. The heads of cabbage are round and have gray-green leaves.
