When you see your favorite actors looking fit on the red carpet, you might think that their level of fitness is unattainable for most ordinary people. But this is not entirely true. According to their trainers, most celebrities face the same challenges as the rest of us when trying to prioritize wellness in our daily lives.
To dispel the myths and give practical advice, keyt.com has used the recommendations of several well-known celebrity trainers who know everything about how to improve their fitness. Here is what they advise. SSPDaily tells about it.
Fitness is a daily effort
Money may give the rich and famous greater access to trainers and workout equipment, but it also gives them more room for indulgence. This means a less consistent schedule with lots of vacations, parties, and dinners - all of which can sabotage fitness without daily discipline.
"The most important thing people need to know is that fitness is not a one-time conversation at the beginning of the year, the beginning of the month, or even the beginning of the week. It's a daily conversation," says Jen Wiederstrom, known as a trainer on the reality TV series The Biggest Loser.
"You look at your day, at the changes, at the variables, and throughout that day you have an ongoing conversation about how to achieve wellness," Wiederstrom added.
She advises to be prepared to "move with the flow of your day, but have the discipline to reinforce those characteristics of wellness that you won't allow yourself to end the day without."
An easy way to consistently implement non-negotiable daily wellness habits into your lifestyle is to add fitness habits to other important daily responsibilities or hygiene. For example, regardless of the circumstances of the day, do push-ups before you shower or sit ups even when you brush your teeth.
Fitness should be fun
Brian Nguyen, a well-known trainer from Los Angeles, reminds us that in order to achieve our fitness goals, we need to turn to our "inner child".
"Don't forget that we all have an 'inner child' that wants to play. Finding time to move, play sports, and work out will be easier if you remember that you need to play to stay young," Nguyen says.
Here are three ways to add some fun to your fitness routine:
- Act like a kid. Remember jumping rope and twirling a hula hoop around your hips? All these things you did for fun as a kid are really effective exercises. Try incorporating them into your workouts for a change.
- Turn on some upbeat music, especially since science confirms that up-tempo music makes workouts more effective.
- Consider training with a partner for added fun and motivation.
Recovery is just as important as training
Too many exercise enthusiasts experience overtraining syndrome, wondering why they aren't improving their fitness. By giving yourself time to rest and recover, you support the muscle building and fat burning processes that change your body composition and improve your fitness.
Recovery isn't just about getting enough sleep; it should be integrated into your overall training program.
True fitness is not a superficial goal
No matter who you are, if you want to live a truly healthy lifestyle, your motivation should be to improve your overall health.
"The most important thing for people to understand about fitness and keeping fit is that fitness improves your whole life," says Rudy Reyes, actor and celebrity trainer in the TV series "Spetsnaz: The World's Toughest Test".
"It goes far beyond the body. It goes far beyond the shell. It changes the way you look at the world and the way the world accepts you. ... It will give you the opportunity to find a true quality of life."
