Maintaining a beautiful and blooming garden requires regular care and attention from gardeners. SSPDaily told you that with the arrival of spring, it is important to focus on fertilizing, spraying, and pruning trees and shrubs to ensure their optimal growth.
To begin with, the first spring fertilization of trees and shrubs should include the use of nitrogen-based substances. This is because it is often lost from the soil during snowmelt. By replenishing nitrogen levels, you will provide plants with the necessary nutrients for healthy growth.
For the second fertilization, consider using pigeon or chicken manure along with urea or ammonium nitrate. Another effective method is foliar spraying of trees with urea of varying concentrations. This ensures that the trees receive the necessary nutrients through the leaves.
When it comes to fertilizing fruit trees and shrubs in the spring, you can prepare a solution of 5 liters of urea or ammonium nitrate. The recommended ratio is 50 grams of these substances per liter of water. Apply this solution to the soil around the trees and bushes.
Alternatively, for a manure-based fertilizer, mix 2.5 kilograms of manure with a bucket of water. Then pour 2 liters of this mixture around each tree. It is very important to perform these fertilizations about 2-3 weeks before the plants begin to flower.
It is also important to choose the right concentration of urea for foliar spraying. For example, use a 0.3% urea concentration for apple trees, 0.2% for pears, and 0.5% for stone fruit trees such as cherries, cherries, plums, and apricots.
