How to remove dandelion sap or flower pollen stains from your clothes with folk remedies
Dandelion juice and pollen stains are the most annoying in the warm season. They are very deeply embedded in the fabric and may not be removed even after several times. However, some folk methods will help you quickly remove such stains. This was reported by SSPDaily.
Laundry soap
It can only remove fresh stains. As soon as you notice that they have appeared, rub the contaminated area liberally with soap and soak it in water for 8-24 hours (depending on the degree of contamination). After that, try rubbing it with your hands and then washing it in a washing machine.
Potassium permanganate solution
It can only be used to clean colored items. Dissolve potassium permanganate in warm water (the liquid should turn slightly pink), and then soak the clothes for 2-3 hours. Then wash by hand or in a washing machine using any powder.
Lemon juice
Lemon juice is a natural bleach and can be used with white fabrics. Dilute freshly squeezed lemon juice in water (1:1 ratio), moisten the dandelion stains with this product, and leave for half an hour. After that, you can rub the stain with soap and put it in the washing machine. You can use citric acid instead of lemon juice. Dilute it in water to a paste-like state.
Alcohol
Alcohol is a great solution for any stubborn stains, including dandelion juice. Soak a cotton ball in 1/2 teaspoon of alcohol, wipe the stained area and leave it for half an hour. Then wash the item as usual.
Hydrogen peroxide
In its pure form, it is suitable only for white items; for colored fabrics, it must be diluted in water. The peroxide solution is applied to the stain and left for 20-30 minutes. Then the residue is carefully removed with a cotton pad and the clothes are washed by hand or in a washing machine.
How to remove dandelion pollen and juice stains at home on different materials
If the stain appears on a jacket, you need to carefully choose a cleaning agent because outerwear is usually made of more resistant and durable fabrics. For example, use oil. The contaminated area is lubricated, then gently wiped and washed by hand.
A jacket made of thin fabric can be cleaned with an iron. The device is heated, soft paper is placed under the fabric, and then the affected area is ironed.
Jeans can be washed with a liquid stain remover. The stain can be rubbed with lemon or onion juice beforehand. The liquid should be allowed to absorb (15 minutes), and then rinsed off.
