Vastu Shastra suggests that even during sleep, these energies hold significance.
According to the philosophy behind Vastu Shastra, the Earth possesses a magnetic field that runs from north to south due to its iron core and rotation. Sleeping with our heads towards the north, as per this belief, aligns the positive pole of our bodies with the positive pole of the Earth, resulting in repulsion. Advocates argue that this internal struggle can disrupt sleep, leading to nightmares, sleep disorders, fatigue, and even impact blood circulation and cholesterol levels. From a spiritual standpoint, it is believed to be impure due to Hindu teachings that the soul leaves the body towards the north during death.
In opposition, sleeping facing south is considered beneficial as it allows the energies to flow in the correct direction. However, interestingly, the recommended direction according to Vastu Shastra is east. This position neutralizes magnetic fields and promotes deep sleep, enhanced memory and concentration, and overall well-being. So, sleeping facing north doesn't seem favorable, does it?
