So, what mistakes are worth paying attention to:

1. Wrong variety - you shouldn't fry young potatoes, because you won't get anything but an unattractive-looking homogeneous mass. Also, some varieties are suitable exclusively for cooking. For example, round tubers with white skin and flesh. But oblong brown or yellow potatoes are ideal for frying.
2. A high level of moisture is perhaps the most common mistake in frying potatoes. Often, the tuber is sent to the pan immediately. It is recommended that you first remove excess moisture from it with a paper towel.
3. A poorly selected frying pan is another very important point if you want to understand how to fry potatoes correctly. Not all cookware is suitable for this cooking method. It is recommended to choose a cast iron skillet with a thick bottom.
4. The right temperature - for fried potatoes to be delicious, the pan must be preheated to a high temperature. You can fry in oil or butter to your liking. However, it is worth noting that the second option is considered less healthy.
5. Too many potatoes - it is not worth frying a large portion of food, because it prevents the potatoes from being fried on all sides. It is better to cook for one time. If the layer of vegetables is thin, then the dish will definitely turn out delicious.
