How to save money on drying laundry in winter without using a tumble dryer

Winter has arrived, which means that drying clothes on a clothesline or hanger is no longer an option. Now this process will take much longer - several days, and the clothes will still smell damp. This was reported by SSPDaily.

Of course, Wales Online writes, you can always use radiators or a tumble dryer, but if you're keeping an eye on your energy consumption, you know that regular use of these appliances is not the best solution. Luckily, the fans of the money-saving expert Martin Lewis have shared their tips on how to dry clothes in winter.

In an episode of ITV's Money Show Live last year, Martin asked Twitter users to give him tips on how to save energy.

In response, follower Deanne said: "I always put the machine on an extra spin after washing to squeeze more water out of the clothes so they dry faster."

Desi replied: "I love this technique, my grandmother taught me it. It's very convenient, it cuts the drying time by about six hours."

Adrian said: "Keep hanging your laundry outside in winter when the weather permits. It may only get 80% dry, but that's 80% less energy needed for the dryer."

@Tenerife7722 said: "Buy a clothes dryer" I haven't turned on the tumble dryer since 2021."
