International and public holidays in March 2024: will there be additional days off

March not only brings spring mood and warm weather, but also many holidays. For example, Ukraine still celebrates March 8 (International Women's Day), although in February 2023 some MPs submitted a bill to abolish it. In 2024, it will be a Friday, and before the full-scale invasion, the holiday was an additional day off.

However, due to the law "On the organization of labor relations under martial law" (extended for another 90 days on February 6, 2024), there will be no additional days off in March.

March 2024: how many working days and days off

Traditionally, in March 2024, there will be 31 days, including 21 working days and 10 official days off (Saturday and Sunday).

That is, Ukrainians will work on March 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29. The rest days will be March 2 and 3, 9 and 10, 16 and 17, 23 and 24, 30 and 31.

It's worth noting that in March, Ukrainians will also experience several important church events. In particular, Lent begins on March 18. And before that, we will eat pancakes and dumplings for a week, as Ukraine will celebrate Shrovetide (March 11-17).
