Spring is approaching soon. Its onset marks the busiest time for preparing the garden. By March, many vegetables, herbs, and fruit and berry trees can be sown. Among the early vegetables is parsley, which is resilient to frost and will germinate quickly if sown early in spring. How to sow parsley for abundant and quick germination: the best months according to the sowing calendar
- Sowing period. It's best to sow parsley in open ground when the soil has completely thawed, and the daily air temperature is at least five degrees Celsius. You can also follow the lunar calendar. The most favorable months for sowing parsley are March-April and early May, during the waxing moon phase.
- Preparing the site for parsley. Choose a sunny location, as parsley thrives in sunlight.
- Watering. Parsley prefers moderate moisture, so avoid sowing in areas where groundwater is close to the surface.
- Soil. Before sowing parsley, fertilize the area with organic or mineral fertilizers, which are available at stores.
- Seed preparation. Before sowing, soak parsley seeds in warm water for a day. Change the water 3-4 times during the day. This helps promote more abundant and faster sprouting.
- Sowing and care. Prepare the sowing area by watering the soil well for two days to ensure good water absorption. Sow the seeds to a depth of 2 centimeters, not too densely to prevent overcrowding. Maintain a distance of up to 20 centimeters between rows. Some gardeners sow herbs in a zigzag pattern to provide more space for parsley to grow.
