Creamy garlic shrimp is an irresistible, quick, and easy 15-minute meal perfect for weeknight dinners. Juicy jumbo shrimp are seared and then coated in a mouthwatering creamy, cheesy garlic sauce. This comforting seafood dish can be served on pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or with crusty bread on the side for delicious dipping.

Ingredients for Creamy Garlic Shrimp:

1. For the Shrimp:

- 2 lbs. jumbo shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails removed)

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 1 tablespoon neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, or olive oil)

2. For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

- 2 tablespoons butter

- 4 cloves garlic (minced)

- ½ cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)

- 1 cup heavy cream (at room temperature)

- ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

- ¾ cup freshly grated white cheddar cheese (or Parmesan)

- Fresh parsley (finely chopped, for garnish)

Equipment:

- Cutting board or large plate;

- Large skillet (preferably cast iron);

- Tongs;

- Measuring cups and spoons;

- Large wooden spoon or silicone spatula.

Instructions:

1. Season the Shrimp.

Lay 2 lbs of medium raw shrimp on a cutting board. Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper evenly, then flip and season the other side.

2. Sear the Shrimp.

Heat 1 tablespoon neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot and shimmery, add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until pink and fully cooked through. Transfer cooked shrimp to a bowl and set aside.

3. Make the Sauce.

Reduce heat to medium and add 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet. Let it melt completely. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Pour in ½ cup dry white wine and deglaze the pan, scraping any browned bits. Cook until the liquid has reduced by half. Add 1 cup heavy cream and heat until it simmers gently. Stir occasionally, then add ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon black pepper to taste. Mix in ¾ cup grated fresh white cheddar cheese and stir until the sauce thickens.

4. Combine and Serve.

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and coat in the sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately over mashed potatoes, pasta, and rice, or enjoy with crusty bread on the side.
