Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp peanut oil
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2cm piece ginger, finely grated
- 500g Coles Extra Lean Pork Mince
- 1 tbsp soy sauce- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 3 shallots, thinly sliced
- 2 tsp fresh lime juice
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 cup bean sprouts, trimmed
- 12 large lettuce leaves
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves
- 1/4 cup chopped roasted peanuts (optional)
Step 1:
Begin by heating a wok over high heat until it becomes hot. Add a tablespoon of peanut oil, swirling it around to coat the wok. Toss in the crushed garlic, grated ginger, and pork mince, stir-frying the mixture for approximately 2 to 3 minutes until the pork slightly changes color.
Step 2:
Next, incorporate the soy sauce and oyster sauce into the wok, followed by shallots, 2 teaspoons of lime juice, and sesame oil. Continue stir-frying the ingredients for about 3 minutes until everything is heated through. To enhance the medley of flavors further, introduce the trimmed bean sprouts and stir them into the mixture.
Step 3:
Now it's time to assemble your San Choy Bau. Grab your large lettuce leaves and spoon the pork mixture into them. Sprinkle a garnish of fresh coriander leaves and, if desired, add a delicious topping of chopped roasted peanuts.
This delightful dish is officially ready to be served. Enjoy the blend of tastes and textures as you relish each bite wrapped snugly in a lettuce leaf. Remember, San Choy Bau is a fun and interactive finger food, making it perfect for casual gatherings or an enjoyable family meal.
