Spot the Star Anise Challenge
Can you spot the star anise among the pecans in under 14 seconds? This intriguing challenge is gaining attention on Reddit. It's a concealed ingredient disguised amongst a pile of pecans.
The challenge began when a Reddit user, known as Su0091, shared this visually stimulating puzzle on the Find The Sniper forum. This forum boasts around 660,000 followers and invites them to "Find the half piece of star anise."
Finding the spice is particularly tricky due to the rich mix of angles and shadows in the image. Additionally, the star anise closely resembles the pecans in color. Many Reddit users confessed they struggled partly due to not knowing precisely what star anise looks like.
One participant commented, "It might help if I knew what star anise was!" They humorously speculated that it was simply "the thing that’s not pecan-shaped." Another user noted, "I have never used star anise in any way/shape/form but somehow know what it looks like." This reflects the mystery surrounding this spice.
After finally spotting it, a third user exclaimed, "Once I saw it though I was like ohhhhhhh didn’t know that was the name lol."
Set a timer yourself and see if you can find the sneaky spice hidden in the image. You can check the answer below. The star anise is cleverly concealed around the top right of the image, camouflaged among the pecans. Often, zooming in can help reveal what seems out of place as you scan the picture.
