Aryna Sabalenka Reaches China Open Quarter-Finals with Straight-Sets Win Over Madison Keys
Aryna Sabalenka continued her impressive form at the China Open, securing her 15th consecutive victory by defeating Madison Keys in straight sets. The world number two and top seed needed only 65 minutes to dispatch Keys with a 6-4, 6-3 scoreline, maintaining her streak without losing a single set in Beijing. This is prepared by SSP.
Sabalenka, 26, will face either Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic or Spain's Cristina Bucsa in the last eight. This win brings her just two victories away from reclaiming the top spot in the WTA rankings from Iga Swiatek, who has opted out of the China Open due to personal reasons.
Marking her 46th win out of 57 singles matches this year, Sabalenka's current unbeaten run includes triumphs at the Cincinnati Open and the US Open. Her last loss was in the Canadian Open quarter-finals on August 10. Impressively, she has reached the quarter-finals or better in 12 out of the 15 events she's participated in this season and is aiming for her first semi-final appearance in Beijing, a city where she is competing in her third consecutive quarter-final.
If she continues her success in Beijing, Sabalenka will exert pressure on the absent world number one Swiatek.
