Marseille Confirm Agreement with Free Agent Adrien Rabiot
France midfielder Adrien Rabiot has agreed in principle to join Ligue 1 club Marseille, BBC reported. After leaving Juventus in July when his contract expired, Rabiot, 29, is set to return to France, pending a successful medical examination.
Rabiot, capped 48 times for France, previously spent five years at Juventus, securing a Serie A title, two Italian Cups, and an Italian Super Cup. Before his move to Turin in 2019, he had a notable stint at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), where he made his senior debut, after a brief period in Manchester City's academy.
Marseille, currently under new manager Roberto de Zerbi and second in Ligue 1, announced their agreement with Rabiot, subject to a medical. The club's recent statement confirmed, "Olympique de Marseille announce that they have reached an agreement with Adrien Rabiot to sign the French international midfielder," pending medical results.
Rabiot, who played in Euro 2024, where France was knocked out in the semi-finals by eventual champions Spain, had also been linked with a move to Premier League clubs, including Manchester United. This season, he joins new additions Mason Greenwood, Neal Maupay, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg at Marseille.
