Michelle Buteau's Husband Worried Over Lenny Kravitz Following Her on Instagram
In an exclusive trailer debut, Michelle Buteau revealed her husband’s surprising reaction to a rockstar’s attention. The trailer for her new Netflix comedy special, "Michelle Buteau: A Buteau-ful Mind," features her telling a humorous story about when Lenny Kravitz followed her on Instagram, PEOPLE reported.
Buteau, 47, humorously recalled, "My husband threw me a party because we found out Lenny Kravitz was following me." She adds laughter from the audience occurred when she shared, "But then Lenny Kravitz kept liking my posts. My husband was like, 'Do I gotta worry about Lenny Kravitz?'" To which Buteau jokingly retorted, "Yes, you do."
Social media watchers will notice that Lenny Kravitz, 60, still follows Buteau's account.
The trailer showcases Buteau's thoughts on motherhood with her partner, Gijs van der Most. They welcome two children, twins Hazel and Otis, born via surrogate.
Reflecting on her experience, Buteau noted, "What I didn't realize with twins, everybody wants to talk to you." She humorously encountered people approaching her, stating directly, "Are they twins?" To this, she retorts, "Are you a pediatrician?" These interactions earned more laughs from the audience.
Buteau and van der Most married in 2010. In January 2019, they became parents, a journey Buteau has openly discussed. In September 2020, she shared that her husband was instrumental in encouraging her to explore surrogacy. "He said, 'You know, I want you back. You are so unhappy and just physically wrecked,'" she explained.
"Michelle Buteau: A Buteau-ful Mind" also signifies a monumental achievement for female comedians. Buteau's special marks the first time a woman has recorded at Radio City Music Hall. She proudly declared in the trailer, "I might be the first woman to do a special on this stage, but I better not be the f---ing last!"
She also reflected on her career aspirations in comedy: "I wanna make millions and millions of dollars for making people feel safe, seen, secure, heard, and entertained." Her previous special, "Michelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia," received critical acclaim. "A Buteau-ful Mind" premieres on Netflix on December 31.
