Everton secures £16 million deal with Hull winger Philogene
Everton Football Club has successfully reached an agreement with Hull to secure the signing of highly sought-after winger Jaden Philogene, in a deal believed to be worth around £16 million. This is reported by SSP.
Following their expressed interest last month, Everton has emerged as the frontrunners in acquiring the 22-year-old English talent. Philogene, who scored an impressive 12 goals in 33 appearances for Hull last season, is said to be eager for a move to Goodison Park.
Although there were hopes from newly promoted Ipswich to secure the services of the England Under-21 international, it appears Everton has won the race, with Crystal Palace also displaying interest.
Interestingly, Hull owner Acun Illicati had mentioned that La Liga powerhouse Barcelona had shown genuine interest in signing Philogene, highlighting the player's increasing reputation across Europe.
If the transfer goes through, Philogene will become Everton's fourth notable signing this summer, joining the likes of Tim Iroegbunam, Jack Harrison, and Iliman Ndiaye.
