Lacroix Set to Join Crystal PalaceWolfsburg
Wolfsburg center-back Maxence Lacroix is on the verge of transferring to Crystal Palace for a deal potentially valued at up to £18 million, conditional upon passing a medical examination, Sky Sports reported.
The 24-year-old French defender has less than a year left on his current contract and has been a primary target for the Eagles throughout this transfer window. Lacroix, who joined Wolfsburg in 2020, has made 130 appearances for the German club. Notably, he played under Crystal Palace's current boss, Oliver Glasner, during Glasner’s tenure at Wolfsburg.
This transfer aligns with other recent changes at Palace. Joachim Andersen has been sold to Fulham in a deal worth up to £30 million, and England international Marc Guehi is attracting interest from Newcastle.
Additionally, Crystal Palace faces defensive uncertainties as central defender Chadi Riad, who joined from Barcelona in June, was forced to exit Tuesday’s Carabao Cup victory over Norwich due to an injury. This situation may pose a challenge for Glasner ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Chelsea.
