Tyson 'Ready' for Rescheduled Paul Fight
Mike Tyson declares he is "prepared" to face Jake Paul on November 15, following the postponement of their initial July 20 match due to his ulcer flare-up, 5NBCDFW reported. The rescheduled bout, hosted at the AT&T Stadium in Texas with a capacity of 80,000, is a professional fight under specific conditions. Tyson, 58, who last fought professionally in 2005, confidently stated he is "just ready" to knock Paul out, despite his 2020 exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. Tyson emphasized that previous opponents of Paul might have shared similar intentions, but the reality will differ greatly when they meet in the ring.
Paul, 27, who holds a 10-1 record, expressed a temporary end to their friendship until after their fight. Fans are eagerly anticipating Tyson's return, evidenced by the overflow at their press conference at New York’s Fanatics Fest.
The retired undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990, Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) noted his readiness despite his recent health hurdles. Paul, addressing New York fans who compared him to Tyson, pointed out the experience Tyson brings to the fight even now. Tyson’s noteworthy career and Paul's determination create a blend of challenge and learning for the younger fighter.
Paul had initially stopped bare-knuckle champion Mike Perry, following Tyson's withdrawal from their July date. Paul looks forward to the skills and experience gained against Tyson. Additionally, the undercard featuring a rematch between super lightweight champion Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano promises exceptional boxing entertainment, streaming live on Netflix with the main event boasting eight, two-minute rounds with 14oz gloves.
Tyson asserts his health issues are behind him: "I feel good." As both fighters prepare, viewers will witness either a display of Tyson’s former prowess or Paul’s potential ascendance in the boxing world.
