Fitbit app will now use Gemini to help you with your health and fitness data
Fitbit has unveiled a new initiative called Fitbit Labs, aimed at select users within the app, to trial innovative health tools powered by Google's Gemini artificial intelligence. The primary feature, Insights Explorer, leverages Gemini AI to deliver personalized responses to users’ queries concerning physical activity and health, by analyzing their data. This analysis produces clear charts and graphs that show the interrelationship between various health indicators, providing users with actionable insights into their well-being.
This experimental feature can be accessed via the "You" tab in the Fitbit app. Users have the option to join immediately or enlist for a waiting list should the tools be currently unavailable. Fitbit Labs represents a new chapter for them, especially following the company’s acquisition by Google and its subsequent operational changes. Users can expect more features in the future as Fitbit Labs continues experimenting and integrating advanced Google AI innovations into their ecosystem, though it’s worth noting these tools are temporary and may require a Fitbit Premium subscription for full access.
