Gemini on Android now lets save a few steps when asking questions about images
The Android Gemini app now offers an enhanced experience for sharing images, simplifying the process significantly. the Android Authority reported. Previously, adding an image with Gemini required manually searching for it and attaching it from the gallery. This was cumbersome, particularly if the image was stored in another app like Google Photos. With update version 1.0.668480831, users can directly share images through the Android share sheet, tapping the Gemini icon to enable straightforward sharing. Although links and text are not supported, this feature streamlines actions for image-related inquiries.
This functionality positions Gemini ahead in Google's AI ecosystem, appealing to those integrated with mobile AI assistants. Now, from any compatible app, simply use the Android's share option to select Gemini, instantly posing questions related to the image—a feature enhanced by tools such as Gemini Advanced and Gemini Extensions. Conveniently, this negates the need to manually save-before-sharing, offering expedited AI interaction, either by engaging the "Ask about this screen" shortcut or starting discussions within the app after previously requiring file downloads.
Efficiently capturing and exploring images from galleries or apps is about to change habitually. This latest update ensures all discoverables are more accessible in the daily digital experience. Discover for yourself the improvements it unfolds by integrating this new sharing capability into your photo and app management tasks.
