Google Pixel Tablet gains convenient access to the Circle to Search feature through the Action Key on Android 15 Beta 3, as reported. This update aims to enhance usability for Pixel Tablet users, particularly on larger screens. Initially introduced exclusively for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, the visual lookup feature, Circle to Search, has gradually expanded to other Android devices. With the latest Android 15 Beta 3 rollout, Pixel Tablet owners can now easily access Circle to Search using the Action Key.
According to Android Authority, the Android 15 Beta 3 update introduces support for the Circle to Search shortcut via the action key on the Google Pixel Tablet. Users have the choice of two taskbar styles: transient and persistent. The persistent style allows users to access Circle to Search effortlessly.
Currently, users can activate the Circle to Search option by tapping and holding the navigation pane. However, after updating to Android 15 Beta 3, swiping up on the persistent-style taskbar triggers a new pop-up window. This window displays a notification stating, "Touch and hold the action key to search what's on your screen."
Interestingly, the report also mentions that the Circle to Search feature can allegedly be activated with the transient-style taskbar.
Apart from this notable improvement, Google is said to be working on enabling Circle to Search in split-screen mode. Reports indicate its potential existence within the Pixel Launcher beta app following the Android 15 update.
Moreover, Google's Circle to Search feature is expected to receive other new enhancements. These enhancements reportedly include text-to-speech capabilities that allow the content to be read aloud. This finding surfaced during an APK teardown of the Google beta app v15.20.36.29.
The report further hints at the possible introduction of two additional features, "Listen" and "Select All," originating from Google Lens and integrated into Circle to Search. On Google Lens, "Listen" reads out highlighted text audibly, while "Select All" highlights the visible text within an image or the camera viewfinder.
With the upcoming Android 15 release, Pixel Tablet users can look forward to a smoother and more accessible Circle to Search experience, along with exciting new features that strengthen the utility of this AI-powered visual lookup tool.
