Gemini, now linked with Google Calendar, can access, create, edit, and delete events. This advancement can be accessed via the @Google Calendar command on both mobile devices and the web version. Users are able to effortlessly add event titles, descriptions, locations, and times. However, at present, editing certain details like the event description or location remains limited, though Google is diligently working on refining these functionalities.

The widespread rollout of this integration marks a significant upgrade in the usability of Gemini, positioning it as a formidable competitor to other digital assistants like Siri or Alexa. While initially trailing Google Assistant in terms of service integration, Gemini is catching up by offering more extensive calendar management features.

Moreover, Samsung is on the cusp of launching a new AI-driven version of its digital assistant, Bixby, set to be included with the One UI 7.0 update. Leveraging large language models (LLMs), this version aims to mirror Gemini's enhanced capabilities within Samsung's own suite of applications. This aligns Samsung with the ongoing race in AI-powered digital voice assistants, noting that Google has already distributed Gemini to millions of Android devices and made it accessible on the web.
