50 Cent Mocks Jay-Z at 'Mufasa' Premiere Amid Rape Accusations
Recently, Jay-Z and his family made a public appearance amidst serious allegations against the rapper. Fellow artist 50 Cent wasted no time in mocking Jay-Z's decision to attend the premiere of "Mufasa" on December 9 in Hollywood.
Walking the red carpet with his wife, Beyoncé, their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, and mother-in-law, Tina Knowles, Jay-Z faced scrutiny from 50 Cent. The rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, shared images of Jay-Z's family outing on Instagram, humorously captioning them. "Jay said they said I rapped [sic] a kid, everybody get dressed we going to see Mufasa LOL," he wrote in the now-deleted post.
This premiere marked Jay-Z’s first public appearance following allegations that he raped a 13-year-old girl in the early 2000s, alongside Sean "Diddy" Combs. These allegations emerged on December 8, a day before the Mufasa event.
Earlier on the same day, 50 Cent referenced the allegations on X, previously known as Twitter. He posted a meme of himself in a car, insinuating uncertainty surrounding future events like the Super Bowl. "Ok I don’t know what’s going on, but are we gonna still have the Super Bowl. 😟," he captioned. His worries seemed to be linked to the ongoing controversy, as Jay-Z’s Roc Nation has been instrumental in organizing the Super Bowl halftime shows since 2020.
Kendrick Lamar is set to headline the halftime performance at the upcoming Super Bowl scheduled for February 2025 in New Orleans. During a podcast appearance on "Big Boy TV," 50 Cent continued his jibes, stating, "I’m just asking for Kendrick. I’m just trying to figure out if we’re still doing everything." He suggested that the NFL might sever ties due to the allegations against Jay-Z.
According to reports, Jay-Z is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 during an MTV Music Video Awards afterparty, with Combs allegedly involved. The accuser, labeled as "Jane Doe," has remained anonymous throughout the turmoil connected to these allegations.
In response to the lawsuit, Jay-Z issued a statement on December 8, openly denying the allegations and expressing his heartbreak for his family. "My only heartbreak is for my family," he said. He emphasized the challenge of addressing these claims with his children, particularly Blue Ivy, who is of an age to understand the media coverage surrounding the allegations.
Jay-Z lamented the impact of such allegations on innocent children. "It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families," he said. He also expressed his commitment to upholding strict moral codes regarding protecting children. In defending himself against attorney Tony Buzbee’s claims, he accused him of exploiting individuals for personal gain, labeling the accusations as "idiotic" and expressing that only those with exaggerated conspiracy theories would be inclined to believe them.
