Abigail Spencer Anticipates an Authentic Perspective of Meghan Markle’s Life in Upcoming Netflix Series
Abigail Spencer is eager for audiences to witness the real Meghan Markle through her new Netflix series, "With Love, Meghan." During the American Heart Association Red Dress Collection Concert on January 30, Spencer shared her thoughts about Meghan and their friendship with PEOPLE. "What excites me is people will have an authentic look at the woman I love and know," Spencer expressed.
Spencer, 43, further emphasized, "You’re going to learn a lot." She smiled as she mentioned, "I learned a lot from her, and she actually gets to teach me something on the show. I’m so grateful." She noted, "It’s really from her heart. It genuinely is with love."
Joining Spencer, Meghan’s show features various appearances, including Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi, Tatcha founder Vicky Tsai, and Chef Alice. According to the press release, the series presents an inspiring take on lifestyle programming, mixing practical how-to techniques with candid conversations among friends, both new and old.
Initially scheduled for a January 15 release, the launch was postponed due to ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. Meghan made this decision for the well-being of her audience.
Spencer and Meghan previously starred in the legal drama "Suits," which aired on the USA Network for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019. Meghan left the show in 2018, ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry. The series saw a revival of interest in the summer of 2023 on Netflix, which currently streams eight of nine seasons, leading NBCUniversal to announce a spinoff titled "Suits LA" in July 2024.
Discussing the upcoming spinoff, Spencer shared her enthusiasm about the "beautiful new cast led by Stephen Amell." She expressed strong hopes for its success, saying, "We want it to be a huge hit." Her excitement for the series’s future speaks volumes about her passion for the project and the creative team behind it.
"With Love, Meghan" will begin streaming on Netflix on March 4.
