Adam Brody Shares Bathroom Secret for a Happy Marriage with Leighton Meester
Adam Brody believes that having separate bathrooms plays a key role in his decade-long marriage to Leighton Meester. He humorously mentioned, "it’s nice" on the topic.
The star of Nobody Wants This explained his thoughts on maintaining a successful relationship with the Gossip Girl alum. Brody noted that their living arrangement includes "de facto separate toilets." He revealed to Access Hollywood during the 2025 Golden Globes on January 5, "I go in the office — it's nice."
Adam, 45, and Leighton have two children, 9-year-old daughter Arlo and a 4-year-old son whose name remains private. He highlighted the benefits of keeping their spaces apart, stating, "Get one layer farther away from the kids. One layer more deep with privacy."
While Adam clearly values this aspect of their life, Leighton joked about her lack of concern regarding their bathroom setup. "I have put no thought into the toilet situation whatsoever," she remarked.
Though they often keep aspects of their lives separate, the couple enjoys collaborating on projects. They have worked together in several films, including The Oranges, Single Parents, and River Wild, showing no hesitation to share the screen.
Adam stated at the Golden Globes, "We always like to work together when it comes up." Leighton added, "It comes up a lot." Adam further explained, "Almost everything we do, they're like, 'Would your husband or wife want to be in this as well?'"
At present, the couple does not have any upcoming projects together. Adam suggested, "We should come up with something that we want to do together."
Their bond has flourished over a decade in Hollywood, which they consider a blessing. "We're super, super lucky, and I think we recognize how lucky we are with one another," Leighton shared with E! News in 2023. "We give each other a lot of respect and time and attention and focus… really putting our time and energy into a relationship."
