Amy Schumer, 43, Reveals Bradley Cooper Mistook Her Age as 50

Bradley Cooper may have shown remarkable bravery by asking Amy Schumer if she was 50 years old. Schumer shared the story on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

During an encounter earlier that week, Schumer mentioned, "He said, ‘You know, I turned 50 this year. You 50?’" Trying to recover, she responded, "I will be 50! But I’m not 50 yet! Yeah no, I’m not, Bradley, but thank you for thinking of me!" At 43, Schumer handles the age-related faux pas with humor.

While being 50 is absolutely fine — Cooper just celebrated his milestone birthday on January 5 — Schumer reflects that it can still st hurt when approached by such a question at a younger age. Promoting her new Netflix movie, Kinda Pregnant, she remarked, "This is how bad people want to be hot: people literally run!"

Schumer is no stranger to awkward moments. She mentioned that the public often confuses her with fellow comedians Melissa McCarthy and Rebel Wilson. However, she takes it in stride, stating, "And I should be so lucky. I don’t correct them. I just go, ‘Yeah, Bridesmaids changed my life’."

The connection between Schumer and Cooper runs deep. In a previous appearance with Jimmy Fallon, she expressed her crush on him. She described him as "the kind of hot, trust me, when he is in front of you, you just grab your ankles." After speaking for about 30 minutes, she humorously declared she was "pretty sure" they were dating.

"I changed my Facebook status from ‘it’s complicated’ to ‘I’m engaged to Bradley Cooper’!" Schumer quipped. She also noted that Cooper is well aware of her infatuation: "I always harass him. I feel very uncomfortable talking to somebody that handsome," she said. 

Considering their long-standing friendship, it is amusing to think about how one day, she can gracefully accept and laugh off such age-related inquiries. Nearly a decade from now, when Schumer turns 50 in June 2031, it remains to be seen if she'll extend an invitation to Cooper for the celebration.
