Amy Schumer Talks About Her Sex Life and Health Journey

Amy Schumer recently disclosed her hormone replacement therapy for perimenopause, sharing its positive impact on both her health and sex life. In an Instagram video posted on March 21, she expressed, "My hair is fuller, my skin is better. I have more energy, I wanna get down more, you know what I mean... I'm talking about sex."
Schumer began this journey through telehealth company Midi Health after learning about her perimenopause condition. Perimenopause represents the transition leading to menopause, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Effects on Daily Life
Since starting her treatment, she revealed her perimenopausal symptoms have vanished. She also shared a sentiment of satisfaction with her experience at Midi Health. The comedian invested in the company, describing her journey positively.
In addition to hormone therapy, Schumer discussed her good experience with the GLP-1 medication Mounjaro for weight loss. "I'm having a really good experience with it," she stated candidly.
Health Battles and Cushing’s Syndrome
Amy is known for her openness regarding health issues. Not long ago, she explored her Cushing’s Syndrome diagnosis, which she partly attributed to online comments that helped her recognize the condition. According to Mayo Clinic, Cushing’s Syndrome occurs when the body produces excess cortisol.
In a recent appearance on the podcast Call Her Daddy, she recounted the reactions she received online. "The internet really came for me after doing a bunch of press," she said. As concerns grew, even medical professionals chimed in, suggesting her possible diagnosis based on cortisol levels.
After investigating, Amy confirmed the diagnosis in February 2024. Fortunately, she learned it was a manageable type. "So anyway, I got rid of [it]," she explained. "Like, it just has to work itself out."
