Andy Cohen Responds to Gary Janetti's Prison Housewife Joke

Andy Cohen did not find writer Gary Janetti's joke about "The Real Housewives" in a prison setting amusing.
"Can’t they put all the Housewives serving time in the same prison and just do a show from there?" Janetti, 58, suggested on Instagram on February 26. This prompted a reply from Cohen, 56, who commented: "too soon, Gary." Janetti then remarked that his idea was "something to think about." Lisa Rinna joined the conversation with a single word response: "GARY," showing her disapproval.
Janetti, who is married to stylist Brad Goreski, previously worked as an executive producer on "Will & Grace" and wrote for "Family Guy." His prison idea surfaced concurrent with news about Karen Huger, a star from "The Real Housewives of Potomac," receiving a one-year jail sentence due to her DUI conviction. According to reports, the judge told Huger, 61, "You were filled to the gills with alcohol," during her February sentencing. She was set to begin serving her sentence immediately.
In March 2024, Huger was involved in a car accident, leading to DUI and DWI charges alongside negligent driving and reckless endangerment. She was found guilty on all counts except reckless driving in December. Huger addressed her situation in a pre-taped video aired during the RHOP reunion. "No, I’m not an alcoholic, let’s be clear," she insisted. "This is very frightening but I accept full responsibility… I care about my children, my family. They are so hurt."
Huger opted to skip the reunion taping to get help and explore the connection between antidepressants and alcohol. Her lawyer in court attributed the accident to "the overuse of prescription medicine."

Karen Huger is not the first from The Real Housewives franchise to deal with jail time. Jen Shah from "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" began her six-and-a-half-year sentence in February 2023 after pleading guilty to defrauding hundreds of victims in a telemarketing scheme. Previously, Teresa Giudice from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" was sentenced to 11 months in prison in 2015 for federal fraud. Additionally, Luann de Lesseps spent one night in jail after her arrest in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2017 for battery, trespassing, and disorderly intoxication. She later joked about her legal troubles on camera, saying, "I’ve been traveling, I’ve been to prison."
