Angelina Jolie’s Son Takes Over Her Former NYC Apartment

Angelina Jolie recently disclosed that one of her sons is living in her former New York City apartment. He seems to have made himself quite comfortable there.
In an interview with The New York Times on March 24, Jolie, 49, shared, "The other day I said I was going to pop by, and he was like, ‘Can you just give me a day to clean?’" She expressed her appreciation for the request, noting, "You should clean up for your mother. But also, how bad is it?"
The Oscar-winning actress didn’t identify which of her sons currently resides in the apartment she purchased in her twenties. However, the report mentioned that her other children frequently use it as a crash pad.
Jolie shares six children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt: Maddox, 23; Pax, 21; Zahara, 20; Shiloh, 18; and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. The former couple finalized their divorce in December 2024, eight years after initially filing.

At that time, Jolie's lawyer James Simon commented, "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all shared properties and since then, she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family." He added, "This is just one ongoing process she has faced. Angelina is exhausted, but relieved this part is over."
Days following her revelation about the apartment, Jolie attended the 2025 Golden Globe Awards with Zahara. On the red carpet, Jolie was nominated for her role as opera singer Maria Callas in Netflix’s "Maria," although she lost to Fernanda Torres for her performance in "I’m Still Here."
Earlier in the month, Jolie and Zahara participated in a charity brunch event in Montgomery, Alabama. Zahara delivered a speech on behalf of "Women in Training Inc." (WIT), an organization dedicated to alleviating period poverty. This is defined as the inability to afford menstrual hygiene products.
Breanna Bennett, one of WIT's young founders, expressed joy about Zahara's participation. "We’re very happy Zahara came! Her speech was perfection, vulnerable yet powerful!" she stated.
Brooke Bennett, Breanna's sister, noted their excitement over Zahara accepting their invitation. "We have developed a working relationship with Zahara," she shared. "We wish to partner with her to spread our menstrual equity message globally."
