Anitta Cancels Coachella 2025 Performance Due to Personal Reasons

Anitta has announced her cancellation of the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival performance due to personal reasons. This news comes as a surprise to many.
The Brazilian singer revealed her decision on March 21 through a post on X (formerly Twitter). They were set for two performances on April 12 and 19. Anitta expressed regret over missing the festival. "I was really looking forward to being at Coachella this year. However, due to unexpected personal reasons, I won’t be able to perform," the 31-year-old stated. She expressed gratitude to the festival for its understanding and continued support, hoping to join in future events.
Anitta, whose real name is Larissa de Macedo Machado, did not provide further details behind her decision. This festival holds special significance for her, as she debuted in Coachella in 2022 and performed again in 2024. The headliners for this year include Lady Gaga, Post Malone, and Travis Scott.

Anitta’s announcement follows the release of her personal Netflix documentary, Larissa: The Other Side of Anitta. In this documentary, she exposes her life’s challenges and vulnerabilities, a task she found difficult. "It was very hard for me to show that side," Anitta shared on Today with Jenna & Friends on March 13. She spoke of years spent trying to display her true self to fans while grappling with societal expectations.
She also reflected on her journey from a challenging background, sharing, "When I was poor… I thought that, ’OK, if I'm rich, if I'm famous, I'm going to be happy.’ And that’s not it." Anitta emphasized the importance of inner fulfillment over fame and wealth, reminding herself and others that external success cannot fill an internal void.
