Anna Faris Shares Thoughts on Son Jack, Who She Describes as a 'Solid Anchor' at 13

Anna Faris expresses gratitude for being the mother of her son. During an interview with PEOPLE, promoting her collaboration with Scrubbing Bubbles, the 48-year-old actress spoke about her son Jack, 12, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Pratt. Faris describes Jack as a "down-to-earth" child, revealing how lucky she feels to have him.
"I feel so lucky," she told PEOPLE. "He has always been a solid anchor. I don't know where, being a kid in Hollywood, he got that."
Continuing her reflection, she added, "I don’t know how he became so down-to-earth, but I’m genuinely grateful."

Faris maintains a close relationship with her son. Previously, in July 2024, she shared about the playful traditions they enjoy together, stating that every six months Jack selects an activity for them. Living in Los Angeles allows them to occasionally visit Disneyland or the San Diego Zoo.
"Going on those mother-son trips fills me with joy," she shared, emphasizing how delightful it is to feel youthful by spending time with Jack. "I enjoy indulging in playful, rascally interactions," Faris expressed, mentioning that they often engage in imaginative play.
She stated, "I’ll act as a mean nanny or take on the role of a boarding school headmistress. I enjoy those kinds of imaginary games with him." Faris acknowledged, "Some of these games annoy other people in my life, yet Jack seems to tolerate them — unless we’re around other kids. Then, he often asks me to stop."
Though Faris and Pratt divorced in 2017 after eight years of marriage, they have prioritized co-parenting. They welcomed their son Jack on August 17, 2012. Both have since moved on, with Faris marrying cinematographer Michael Barrett in July 2021, and Pratt marrying Katherine Schwarzenegger in June 2019. Pratt and Schwarzenegger welcomed three additional children: Lyla, Eloise, and Ford. Despite their separate lives, they have fostered close bonds within their blended families.

In 2019, Faris shared her desires for future family gatherings while speaking on the podcast "Divorce Sucks!" with attorney Laura Wasser. As Jack matures, Faris expressed hope for group Thanksgiving dinners and the potential for shared holiday celebrations.
"We don’t hold grudges. Chris and I want to make sure Jack is happy and that we're supportive of each other," she reflected on the podcast. "We aspire to have a fantasy where we all celebrate holidays together, ensuring our loved ones feel safe while respecting our love for one another."
Faris concluded by describing the mutual respect and kindness that shapes their relationship, saying, "Despite all these uncoupling circumstances, we show respect for each other. I know we strive to reach that ideal place, even if it sounds optimistic."
