Ariana Grande Connects with a Fan While Driving: 'Made a Friend'
Ariana Grande recently shared a delightful interaction with a fan through her Instagram Story. In the video, Grande was in a car when she heard a fan listening to her song "Imagine." This charming moment captured the music star chatting with the surprised driver and even singing along briefly.
In the clip, Grande greets the fan, named Edwin, saying, "What’s your name? Edwin, nice to meet you." She was amazed by the situation, exclaiming how surreal it felt, "How is this real? Is that me?" She expressed her joy, stating, "This made my day!"
Edwin, clearly thrilled, replied, "Oh my god, I adore you. I can't believe... I'm this close to you!" Grande captioned the video, reflecting on making a new friend and saying, "i couldn’t believe my ears !!!!!!" She was thankful, mentioning, "thank you, Edwin, for making my day. I’m still crying."
Edwin also posted his version of the moment, showing Grande singing along to "Imagine" while the car window was down during their brief chat.
More About "Imagine" and Grande's Current Projects
"Imagine," released in December 2018 from Grande's Thank U, Next album, reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100. Currently, Grande is also busy promoting her role as Galinda/Glinda in the forthcoming Wicked film adaptation. Last week, the official Wicked account shared a video teasing Grande's rendition of the song "Popular."
However, there was a small hiccup when Grande pointed out the account’s misquote of her lyrics. In the clip, her character sings to Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba the lyrics, "Popular, you're gonna be popular / I'll teach you the proper poise when you talk to boys." Grande commented to clarify, adding, "it’s 'ploys' !!!!!! i love you @wickedmovie."
According to the published sheet music by Hal Leonard Corporation, she was correct, as the lyrics state, "I'll teach you the proper ploys when you talk to boys."
