Women's World Cup champion Ashlyn Harris shared insights with E! News about co-parenting her two children with ex-wife Ali Krieger. They prioritize positivity amid their divorce, despite the challenging circumstances.

Harris, a retired soccer star, is navigating a "hard season of divorce and retirement." She expressed a commitment to ensuring their children, Sloane, 4, and Ocean, 2, perceive their situation positively. "We always make sure we tell our children they get the best of two worlds," she remarked, emphasizing the concept of abundance. "It's not this or that. Everything the kids do, they do it twice. Everything is doubled, and I think it's exciting for them."

The two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion shared that her daughter enjoys multiple celebrations. "She had three birthday parties, so she thinks it's the coolest thing ever," Ashlyn said. "I think she believes her birthday is every week." These numerous parties, including several themes like Hello Kitty and Paw Patrol, added to the family's special memories.

In her relationship with Sloane, Ashlyn stressed the importance of love and emotional support. "The biggest thing is just showing her so much love," she explained, indicating that Sloane deeply feels that affection.

Beyond parenting, the former goalkeeper is also focusing on self-growth through her new podcast, Wide Open, produced by iHeart Women's Sports. "I'm unlearning toxic traits that aided my athletic success, but hindered my roles as a partner and friend," Ashlyn highlighted. Reflecting on her experiences, she acknowledged the challenges of ego and selfishness, stating, "I feel more comfortable in pain than in joy. I must learn to reframe my thoughts."

Regarding who may support her on this journey, Harris suggested that her partner, Sophia Bush, could join her podcast. "She supports me so much," Ashlyn noted. With Sophia's background in podcasting and entertainment, she provides valuable encouragement. "I think Sophia will for sure be on the show when the time is right," Ashlyn concluded.
