Barbara Palvin Discusses her 'Ideal Gift' from Dylan Sprouse
Barbara Palvin has a clear wish for Christmas—an entire room dedicated to her holiday decorations. The model shared her festive wish at the Revolve Holiday Shop event in Los Angeles.
"My ideal gift is for him to build a whole room for me with storage space where I can put all my [holiday] decorations," Palvin, 31, expressed. She mentioned the challenge of storing her various holiday items. "I [put away] my Halloween stuff, and it’s like 10 big boxes, and now I'm pulling out the Christmas stuff."
Although Palvin enjoys celebrating each holiday, her husband, Dylan Sprouse, noted their storage challenges. "We don’t have any storage left in the house," Sprouse, 32, admitted. He pointed out that Thanksgiving is a new experience for Palvin, who hails from Budapest, Hungary. This brings her joy, adding, "But it’s another reason for me to decorate."
Palvin further explained that Christmas customs differ in Hungary. "In Hungary, Saint Nicolas Day is the fourth of December," she clarified. "That’s when Santa comes and leaves toys in the window and in your shoes."
Despite her enthusiasm for the holidays, Palvin finds it tough celebrating away from her family. "Because we’re here, and then my sister’s here in L.A. now too," she commented, mentioning her sister, Anita Palvin.
Reflecting on cherished childhood traditions, Palvin recalled a significant one. "We had a tradition that every four years you'd have to hand-make your gifts," she shared. This meant no money was spent; everyone had to find craft materials. Palvin fondly remembers her dad excelling at this tradition, saying, "I think the first time we ever did this tradition, my dad was collecting chestnuts and then little sticks. He made little figures out of them and glued them together."
