The actor voiced his frustration, indicating that he could only tolerate so much online trolling. On December 7, he shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "I can only sit and take so much. My name has been dragged across the internet in ways I usually don't respond to."

He elaborated on why he felt compelled to speak out. "I have to respond now because it's getting to a place where there are too many lines being crossed," the 32-year-old expressed.

Personal Attacks and Their Impact

Keoghan emphasized that his decision to leave social media was necessary to maintain focus on his family and career. He described the messages he received as "absolute lies, hatred, and disgusting commentary" about various aspects of his life, including his character and parenting.

He added, "People are dragging my character and everything I worked extremely hard for and stand for." These attacks included hurtful remarks about his upbringing and unwarranted invocations of family members.

Overall, Keoghan stated that some comments were especially invasive, describing unwanted visits near his family's home. He wrote, "Knocking on my granny's door. Sitting outside my baby boy's house intimidating them. That’s crossing a line."

Keoghan expressed his unwavering commitment to his son Brando, aged 2. He noted, "Every day I work harder to be the healthiest and strongest person for that boy." His hopes include providing an environment where his son can learn and grow without the influences of negativity.

He poignantly reminded his followers about the long-lasting impact of their words. "He has to read ALL of this about his father when he is older. Please be respectful to all."
