Ben Affleck Praises ‘Wonderful’ Coparenting Relationship With Jennifer Garner

As one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Ben Affleck and his family face constant public scrutiny. In a recent interview with GQ, he shared insights about this reality.
"I’m aware that it’s absurd and it’s ridiculous," he remarked. Many headlines about his life, according to Affleck, lack genuine news value. Frequently, he notices that daily events are overemphasized. "There’s nothing newsworthy at all about the day-to-day events of my life," he noted, regarding the nature of media coverage.
He further explained, "Some broad event occurs, whether globally or around my life," adding, "And look, here they are frustrated with the parking meter. I’m definitely aware of the cosmic joke of it all."
Affleck emphasizes accuracy in his life. He holds his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, in high regard when discussing their coparenting relationship. "Look, I know what’s going on in my life," he said, highlighting how their three children are aware of their surroundings.

Affleck and Garner married from 2005 to 2015 and welcomed three children: 19-year-old Violet, 16-year-old Seraphina, and 13-year-old Samuel. Even after nearly 10 years apart, they co-parent effectively and often appear together in public.
Affleck recounts a lesson for their children regarding tabloid news. "We used to have a thing about what’s seen on a supermarket stand. We explained, ‘You know this isn’t always true,’" he said. He emphasized his gratitude, stating, "I’m really lucky to have a great coparent and partner in Jennifer Garner."

He remarked, "It’s more of a headache than anything else, and there are certainly worse things." While he reflects on why he is often a media target, he believes it’s due to his candid approach.
Affleck added, "I know some people think, 'I don’t want to be seen in a T-shirt or spilling a drink,' but I think: ‘Oh, f—k it, I could give a s—t. I just want to get the coffee.’"
Ultimately, Affleck feels his life is "actually pretty drama free."
