Beyoncé's BeyGood Foundation Donates $2.5 Million to L.A. Fire Relief Efforts
Beyoncé is showing her support for those impacted by wildfires in Los Angeles. On January 12, her BeyGood Foundation announced a significant $2.5 million donation to a new L.A. Fire Relief Fund via Instagram. The post began with the message: "Los Angeles, we stand with you. 🫶🏽"
The donation aims to assist families in the Altadena and Pasadena areas who have lost their homes. It will also support local churches and community centers to meet the immediate needs of those affected. The foundation encouraged people to visit [BeyGood's mission](https://beygood.org) for further support information.
The wildfires, intensified by Santa Ana winds, have displaced numerous residents and damaged homes, including those of celebrities. This devastating fire spread on January 7, displacing people like Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, and Anna Faris.
In addition, Jamie Lee Curtis pledged $1 million last week to aid the relief efforts. She announced this commitment in an Instagram post on January 9, stating, "My family is donating $1 million today to the relief efforts." Curtis highlighted her connection with state officials, including Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass, ensuring transparency about where resources are directed.
Curtis further emphasized her family’s commitment, writing: "My husband and I and our children have pledged $1 million from our Family Foundation." This initiative is intended to support their community during this challenging time.
Her donation announcement followed an emotional segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During her January 8 appearance, Curtis expressed concern about the fires. "I’m literally just about to cry," she admitted. "Where I live is on fire right now. The whole city of the Pacific Palisades is burning." Curtis acknowledged the widespread nature of the current disaster in Southern California—with a heartfelt appeal highlighting the immediate need for assistance.
