Beyoncé's Netflix Halftime Performance Attracts 27 Million Viewers
Beyoncé delivered an unforgettable halftime show during Netflix's NFL Christmas Gameday, captivating 27 million viewers. This impressive figure surpassed the two football games aired on December 25.
According to Deadline, viewership peaked during Beyoncé's performance, based on live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen. The event featured several guest artists, including Post Malone, Shaboozey, and her daughter, Blue Ivy, who is 12 years old.
The Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game drew 24.1 million viewers, while the Baltimore Ravens faced the Houston Texans, attracting 24.3 million. The Chiefs triumphed over the Steelers with a score of 29-10, while the Ravens defeated the Texans, 31-2.
Meanwhile, Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce scored his third touchdown for the season. This achievement allowed him to surpass Tony Gonzalez’s record for the most receiving touchdowns in Kansas City history. Kelce expressed gratitude toward Gonzalez in a postgame interview, stating how much he admired him as a mentor.
His girlfriend, Taylor Swift, publicly celebrated Kelce's success by liking a Chiefs Instagram post highlighting this achievement.
However, many considered Beyoncé’s live performance of songs from her country album, Cowboy Carter, released in March, as the day's standout moment.
Beyoncé made a striking entrance on horseback, arrayed in a white oversized fur coat and a coordinating cowboy hat, alongside vintage cars. Her dynamic set included performances of "16 Carriages" and "Black Bird." She later captivated the crowd with "Ya Ya," donning a sequined bodysuit.
Beyoncé also performed "RIIVERDANCE" with Shaboozey, "LEVII’S Jeans" with Post Malone, and classic hits like "Jolene" and the titular "Texas Hold ‘Em." Blue Ivy joined her mother during the song, enhancing the performance's charm. Beyoncé concluded by stating, "It’s only right that we do ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ for the first time in Houston, Texas on Christmas. Merry Christmas, God bless y’all."
During her rendition of "Black Bird," supporting artists Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts graced the stage, showcasing talents featured on the album.
