Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s Legal Battle to Be Explored in New Documentary

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal dispute is being adapted into a documentary.
ITN Productions from England is producing a 90-minute documentary titled "He Said, She Said: Blake Lively vs Justin Baldoni." This film will air on the U.K.’s Channel 5 on March 17. Ian Russell, head of international at ITN Productions, emphasized the documentary's significance, framing it as a relevant exploration of a captivating Hollywood story, per Variety.
Denise Seneviratne, the commissioning editor at Channel 5, expressed enthusiasm about the project. She mentioned that the narrative has received considerable attention, especially fueled by social media. "This film feels relevant in the context of #MeToo," she added, highlighting its importance. A shorter version will also debut in the U.S. The film will be available on Max and Discovery+ starting March 31.

The documentary will detail the complexities of the legal battles arising from their 2024 film "It Ends With Us." In the film, Lively portrays Lily Bloom, while Baldoni directs and plays Ryle Kincaid.
Lively, aged 37, sued Baldoni, aged 41, in December 2024 for alleged sexual harassment on set. She asserted that he created a hostile work environment. Baldoni has persistently denied these allegations. He filed two lawsuits, including a $250 million suit against The New York Times, which published Lively's complaint in full. This particular lawsuit is currently paused as the newspaper sought dismissal.
Baldoni's legal actions also target Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane for $400 million. Sloane aims to withdraw from the case, while Baldoni's accusations have been firmly repudiated by Lively and Reynolds.

The actors are scheduled to confront each other in court next year. However, a judge warned that the trial date might be expedited if media coverage intensifies. Recently, Lively’s partial request for a stronger protective order succeeded, while some aspects sought by Baldoni were disallowed. Modifications allowed sensitive documents to only be accessed by the respective legal teams.
Lively's spokesperson informed Us Weekly that the court’s ruling guarantees safeguards that promote a smooth discovery process. This would fortify Lively's pursuit of evidence to substantiate her claims in court.
Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, stated that they agree with the court concerning the limited scope of protections. He described Lively's broad document requests as excessive and clarified their focus on communications disproving Lively's claims. He further asserted their intention to challenge any attempts by Lively’s team to misrepresent vital information as "trade secrets."
