Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds All Smiles With Costar Michele Morrone Amid Justin Baldoni Legal Drama
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are in good spirits despite their ongoing legal drama. The couple looked cheerful while posing for a picture with Lively’s "A Simple Favor 2" costar, Michele Morrone.
On Sunday, January 26, Morrone, 34, shared a snapshot of the trio on his Instagram Stories, saying, "Missed you guys! Love you!!" He tagged Lively, 37, and Reynolds, 48, in the post, which played Eve’s "Let Me Blow Ya Mind." Reynolds also reshared Morrone’s photo with his 53 million followers.
This reunion follows Lively and Morrone's collaboration on the much-anticipated sequel to "A Simple Favor" last year. Lively and Anna Kendrick will reprise their roles in the comedy thriller directed by Paul Feig. In December, Morrone publicly defended Lively after she filed a sexual harassment complaint against her "It Ends With Us" costar and director, Justin Baldoni.
"It’s usually not my thing to make those kinds of videos, but I think it’s time to stand up for a person I really love, and this person is Blake Lively," Morrone stated in a December 23 video on Instagram. The "365 Days" star recounted meeting Blake during filming, sensing her distress. He shared, "We had the opportunity to talk, me and her, [and] Blake was in pain." Notably, "A Simple Favor 2" wrapped filming last spring, while "It Ends With Us" commenced filming in May 2023.
Morrone expressed his frustration about "cruel and bad comments" directed at Lively without understanding her situation. He referenced a New York Times article published on December 21 that detailed Lively’s complaints against Baldoni, urging fans to read it for context before commenting. He concluded with, "Blake, I love you so much. Keep it up, and we’re going to see each other very soon. Love you."
Following Lively’s harassment complaint against Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department, both parties pursued lawsuits against each other. Lively’s lawsuit, filed on December 31, 2024, accuses Baldoni of sexual harassment, retaliation, invasion of privacy, emotional distress, and lost wages tied to her experience on "It Ends With Us." In response, Baldoni filed a $400 million lawsuit on January 16, claiming civil extortion, defamation, and other issues against Lively, Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane.
Additionally, Baldoni and nine others are suing "The New York Times" for its coverage of Lively’s earlier complaint, linked by Morrone in December. Their $250 million lawsuit accuses the newspaper of libel and falsely invading privacy, claiming the outlet "cherry-picked" details to mislead readers.
