Bob Bryar, Former Drummer of My Chemical Romance, Found Dead at 44
Bob Bryar, the former drummer of My Chemical Romance, has been found dead at age 44. Reports indicate that he was found in his Tennessee home on November 26 by Animal Control, after being last seen on November 4, US Weekly reported.
While the exact cause of death remains unclear, sources state that foul play is not suspected. Medical authorities are currently examining the circumstances around his death.
Bryar joined My Chemical Romance in 2004, taking over for original drummer Matt Pelissier. He served as the band's longest-tenured drummer, remaining until 2010. During his time with MCR, he contributed to their acclaimed album, "The Black Parade," released in 2006.
After leaving My Chemical Romance, Bryar explored various music projects. Eventually, he transitioned into a career in real estate.
In a 2016 interview with Alternative Press, Bryar reflected on his early experiences with the band, expressing his feeling that My Chemical Romance was inherently "special."
"I left a stable touring job managing and doing sound for bands. I joined a group with bad gear and a dilapidated van. It was a dirty gig, yet I was thrilled," he shared, noting his instinct that they would make a significant impact.
Bryar reminisced about iconic shows from his time with the band. "The entire Black Parade tour is unforgettable for me. It felt like a dream," he recalled. "I wish everyone could play on my drum kit during those exhilarating performances."
He elaborated on the financial commitment of the tour. "We invested heavily back into production because we prioritized the show over profit. This approach allowed us to keep ticket prices lower. I still want a piece of that set as a keepsake; it was the best time of my life."
