Brian Geraghty Talks About Working with Harrison Ford on '1923'

Brian Geraghty, known for his role in the Yellowstone spinoff 1923, recently shared insights about his costar, Harrison Ford. At the show's season 2 premiere, he expressed gratitude for their collaboration.
"We had a really good rapport," Geraghty tells PEOPLE. "I felt lucky to spend almost 80% of my time with him. He makes me laugh." As the foreman Zane Davis, Geraghty discussed the humor and dedication Ford brings to the set.
Geraghty, 49, shared his initial nerves working alongside the legendary actor, who portrays Jacob Dutton. "The first day I thought I was going to die," he admits. He found himself wondering how to manage the pressure. "You get nervous around actors that are bigger than life," he added, acknowledging the importance of overcoming such anxiety.

Helen Mirren, who plays Cara Dutton, also praised Ford's demeanor. She remarked on how easy he made it for the cast to feel at ease, explaining how much the other cast members appreciate him. "Harrison is such a bloke. He’s the type of guy everyone loves," Mirren stated. "We all huddle around him during breaks, since he’s so lovely to be around."
When asked about discussing Ford's past roles, Geraghty mentioned he chooses when to ask questions. "It depends on the situation," he explained. "If there’s a good vibe, it feels easier to talk." He shared his reluctance to discuss iconic roles. He noted how unsettling it is when others focus on old projects, saying, "As actors, it’s vital to push our boundaries and evolve."
Geraghty added, "I always aim for conversations that feel relevant. Acting relies on trust, and dwelling on the past can feel invasive." Overall, their working relationship has enhanced Geraghty’s experience on set.
"I feel fortunate as I spend so much time with Harrison," he remarked, emphasizing the joy Ford brings to their collaboration.
