Britney Spears Announces She Has "Married Myself"
Britney Spears recently revealed her decision to marry herself. While some may see this as embarrassing, Spears considers it "the most brilliant thing I've ever done."
The renowned singer of "…Baby One More Time" shared her perspective on self-marriage with excitement. On October 20, she posted on Instagram: "The day I married myself." She added that although it might seem silly, she finds great joy in this choice.
In her Instagram post, the 42-year-old included a video of herself dressed in a white satin gown with a lace veil. The clip featured Sting's "Fields of Gold," known for its romantic lyrics about love blossoming in barley fields.
Though Spears did not elaborate further on her sologamy decision, many proponents believe that marrying oneself promotes happiness. This act encourages self-love and helps individuals build a fulfilling life.
Since her divorce from Sam Asghari in May 2023, Spears has remained private regarding any new relationships. Sam Asghari filed for divorce in August, just over a year after their June 2022 marriage. Spears was also married to Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline, with whom she shares two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
Asghari stated, "You learn so much from being in relationships in general." He reflected on their time together and the growth that comes from serious relationships: "Being in love is something that's always going to be a part of me."
He emphasized the importance of celebrating past experiences while moving forward. Despite their brief marriage, he expressed gratitude for their time together, saying, "She's an amazing person and a huge part of my life."
On her part, Spears has remained somewhat quiet about her marriage and divorce details. However, she shared excitement about her life with fans recently. On October 13, she expressed, "I have just had such a crazy year and could cry TEARS OF JOY!!!"
She encouraged her followers, stating, "You are all seen and loved." Spears urged everyone to meditate on positive thoughts, adding humorously, "One last thing: ALWAYS BE GOOD."
