Britney Spears Reflects on Holiday Reunion with Son Jayden
Britney Spears expressed joy over reconnecting with her youngest son, Jayden, as the holiday season unfolded.
On December 30, Spears, 43, shared her happiness on Instagram about spending Christmas with Jayden, now 18. She had not seen him for over two years. She captioned two photos of him in a lush environment, wearing baggy jeans and an oversized maroon shirt, with "Mine forever!!!"
Spears wrote about their bond, saying, "It’s weird... we’re like twins but he’s a boy and I’m a girl!!! He’s mine. I hadn’t seen him in 2 and half years or maybe 3!!! I’m in shock!!! He came back and he feels older and smarter than me!!! He’s a man, and I cry every day of my life because of the miracle and genius he is!!! When he plays, the whole earth shakes!!!"
Earlier, Britney announced their special holiday reunion through Instagram on December 25. She shared a heartfelt video where she referred to Jayden as "my baby," concluding with a kiss on his cheek.
"Best Christmas of my life!!! I haven’t seen my boys in 2 years!!!" she wrote. "Tears of joy and literally in shock every day, koo koo crazy, so in love and blessed!!!"
Upon reuniting, Spears said she felt "speechless" after meeting Jayden. She shares Jayden and his older brother, Preston, 19, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
After her divorce from Federline in 2007, Spears was under conservatorship managed by her father, Jamie Spears. This legal arrangement largely impacted her time with her sons. It ended in late 2021 after 13 years, but since then, her relationship with her sons has been tense.
In 2022, Jayden shared his feelings, telling the Daily Mail, "I think Mom has struggled giving us both attention and showing equal love." He expressed concern over not receiving adequate love. He highlighted the pressures they faced and the need for emotional healing, further stating, "I feel guilty, so I am there for him. Mom has treated me better."
Britney addressed his comments then, expressing via Instagram, "I send all the love in the world to you every day for the rest of my life." She admitted her sadness over not meeting his expectations.
Since then, Jayden and Preston moved to Hawaii with Kevin Federline and his wife, Victoria Prince, along with their younger siblings in 2023. However, Jayden later returned to California.
As of November, a source told, "Jayden is spending time back in California but does not live with Britney. All of his friends are still in California, and he wanted to come back after graduating high school." This source noted that Jayden reached out to Britney to start a conversation.
The insider added that Jayden was "open to mending the relationship" with his mother. They acknowledged that the road to reconciliation could take time. Jayden and Britney met only twice, and those encounters were brief. "Britney was very excited to hear from him and hopes they can continue to spend time together," the source remarked. "Jayden reaching out means everything to her."
