Céline Dion Issues Warning on Unauthorized AI Music

Céline Dion issued a strong warning against the unauthorized use of AI-generated music featuring her name and image. She expressed concerns about groups creating "unsanctioned" content that mimics her work.
Dion stated that although music endures, it must be under her control. The acclaimed artist posted a clear message on Instagram, identifying the circulation of unauthorized music that claims to feature her performances.
"It has come to our attention," she wrote, "that unsanctioned, AI-generated music purporting to contain Céline Dion’s musical performances, and name and likeness, is currently circulating online and across various Digital Service Providers."
The message continued, "Please be advised that these recordings are fake and not approved and are not part of her official discography."
This isn't the first protective stance taken by Dion regarding her work. Last August, she addressed the use of her song at a campaign event by then-presidential nominee Donald Trump.
"Today, Céline Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Céline Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On,’" the statement clarified. "In no way is this use authorized, and Céline Dion does not endorse this or any similar use."
Dion humorously remarked, "…And really, THAT song?"
In 2023, she released original songs for the film Love Again and will soon launch a companion album for her upcoming documentary, I Am: Céline Dion. These releases focus on her greatest hits.
Although new music has been scarce since she disclosed her diagnosis of stiff person syndrome in 2022, Céline made a notable return. She performed "Hymne à l’amour" from the Eiffel Tower at the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony.
"I’m honored to have performed tonight for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony and am joyous to be back in one of my favorite cities!" she shared on Instagram after her performance. She continued, "Most of all, I’m happy to celebrate these amazing athletes, encountering their journeys of sacrifice and determination."
Dion added, "You should all be so proud. We know how hard you've worked to be the best."
Beyond the Olympics, the Canadian singer also showcased her talents recently. On March 4, she performed a snippet of one of her hits while attending a TGL golf match in Florida with her 14-year-old twin sons, Nelson and Eddy.
Earlier, SSP reported that Salma Hayek shared her charming old-fashioned habits.
