Chad Duell to Leave General Hospital After More Than a Decade

Chad Duell, who has portrayed Michael Corinthos on ABC's General Hospital since 2010, has announced his departure from the show. In an Instagram post, Duell, aged 37, expressed gratitude, after nearly 15 years on the soap opera, towards executive producer Frank Valentini, the cast, crew, and fans. Having joined the soap by replacing Drew Garrett as Carly and Sonny's son, Duell garnered recognition with a Daytime Emmy win in 2015 for outstanding supporting actor. Valued highly on set, Valentini lamented Duell’s exit but promised engaging storylines for his character’s departure in the new year, dispelling rumors of an immediate recast.

Throughout his tenure on the show, Duell appreciated fans for embracing Michael Corinthos as part of their lives, assuring them it isn’t a goodbye but simply a "see you later." Chad recently transitioned into fatherhood with his partner Luana Lucci, welcoming their first child, Dawson, in September 2023.
