Chelsea Handler Discusses Drug Use at Oscars Afterparty

Chelsea Handler, the best-selling author, openly discussed her views on drug use during her March 27 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The 50-year-old emphasized her support for "natural drugs," particularly micro-dosing.
Handler stated, "I love drugs… micro-dosing especially. People have this stigmatization around drugs that I find very annoying. Drugs can help so many people." She clarified that she distinguishes between harmful street drugs and substances like psilocybin and LSD, which can aid mental health.
Handler detailed her approach to drug use. She noted, "I’m not talking about street drugs like cocaine and heroin. Those are bad." Instead, she highlighted the benefits of naturally derived substances, which can treat depression and improve enjoyment in life.
"I micro-dose, not take so much you're hallucinating," she added, explaining that appropriate amounts, like 50 milligrams of MDMA or LSD, enhance experiences without overwhelming users.
Handler fondly remembered her time at this year's Vanity Fair Oscars party, where she eagerly shared drugs. "I share it with everybody. I love giving people drugs!" she exclaimed. The TV personality recalled, "You should have seen me at the Vanity Fair party; I was like, 'Take this; you're going to have a great time!'"

Despite her enthusiasm, Handler stressed she is mindful of individuals' medical backgrounds. "I'm not irresponsible about it," she reassured Kimmel.
During the broadcast, Handler also recounted her birthday celebrations in February. She celebrated turning 50 by skiing in a red bikini amidst a group of women in bathing suits. She reveled in the experience, noting it involved taking LSD.
When Kimmel asked if skiing after micro-dosing was safe, Handler replied that it only heightened her outdoor experiences. She emphasized, "If you're having a great experience, you're going to have an extra great experience."
Handler jokingly mentioned that not everyone in her group took LSD, but insisted that micro-dosing significantly enhances the day. She has even shared edibles with flight attendants on her trips.
Handler’s comments follow the release of her latest book, "I’ll Have What She’s Having," where she discusses personal experiences, including sexting a governor and trying psychedelics with strangers in Spain.
